As an application engineer in Rakuten's online travel agency: Rakuten Travel, I develop and maintain APIs that search and perform availability checks for hotels and flights in Rakuten Travel. My job ranges from writing development and API specifications, coding the corresponding implementations in Java with Spring Boot, writing unit tests, to fixing bugs.
I have also been mentoring interns in my team. I create tasks that help them get used to the team's workflow, and give them the necessary guidance to make the most out of their internships.
Lalamove is an online delivery platform that connects customers with a pool of drivers or vans, trucks, and motorcycles. During my first internship in this company, I worked in a team of 6 people to develop an application that smooths training process for Lalamove drivers. In this project, I also learned how to use libraries such as Retrofit, Realm, and Espresso in the development of an Android application.
The second time I interned at Lalamove, I focused on writing unit tests for an existing Android application. I also implemented an area-specific feature on the back-end side.
Grace Hopper Celebration 2017
I was awarded conference and travel grant from Microsoft to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration 2017 in Orlando, Florida.
TripSquare in Action
In a team of 3 people, I developed a real-time collaborative travel and transportation planning application in 24 hours. This project was submitted to HackUST 2017 and won the 3rd place for Transportation theme.
BeSafe in Action
In YHack 2016, I and my 3 teammates built an app that informs users about unsafe situations around them. We finished it in 36 hours, and we won the Most impactful use of Analytics for Good and Best Use of Pitney Bowes API awards.
MoneyBag in Action
HackUST 2016 was the first hackathon I attended. In 24 hours, I and my teammates created Moneybag: a platform for personal financing and investment learning, targetting millennials. We managed to win 1st place for Bank of East Asia App for LifeStyle award.

During my 2nd year of university, I started an IoT project with 4 friends and built Aerity, a network of sensors intended to be placed throughout a certain region to give an early warning to humans of deadly environmental elements nearby.
This project managed to get into the semi finals of HKUST President's Cup (2016).

Under HKUST's Student Innovation for Global Health Technology (SIGHT) program, I and my 3 teammates worked on a project that aims to help diabetes patients in Indonesia detect diabetic retinopathy at an early stage.
To do this, my team prototyped SnapGrade: an Android app that analyzes a picture of a retina and detects the symptoms of diabetic retinopathy. We also presented the prototypes to NGO representatives and professors before testing them on field.
